Because pregnancy is more than just a clinical checklist.

In the noise of appointments and preparations, the mother can get lost.   We create space for the messy, beautiful and profound transition you are navigating.

Clinical Noise

When your pregnancy feels like a series of appointments and checklists rather than a life-changing transition. You’re looking for a space where you are a person, not just a patient.

The Solo Journey

Maybe you have a medical team and a partner, but you lack a "village" of women who truly understand this shift. You’re looking for the deep, consistent support of a local sisterhood.

Lost Intuition

Between the "shoulds" and the endless advice, it’s hard to hear your own inner voice. You’re looking for tools to quiet the external noise and reconnect with your maternal instincts.

YOUR facilitator

Jessica French: Midwife & Ex-Perinatal Psychologist

The maternity system will monitor a baby, a women’s circle will hold the mother"

Jess spent years navigating the clinical worlds of Midwifery and Psychology, only to realise that while the medical system is designed for safety, it often fails to honour the woman behind the patient. Pregnancy is a profound identity shift, a "making" that requires more than a 15-minute clinical check-up and a generic checklist.

This gap between the medical and emotional wellness led Jess to create Held in the Making. She believes that when we step out of the clinical noise and into a circle of sisterhood, we find the quiet necessary to hear our own intuition. Through community conversation and tactile, creative exploration, Jess will help you move through the "mess" of matrescence and emerge grounded, connected, and deeply prepared for the transition ahead.

FAQ

Do I need to be "artistic" or good at pottery to join?

No artistic skill is required; we use clay and craft simply as tactile tools for self-expression and exploration.

When is the best time in my pregnancy to attend?

The circle is most impactful between 12 and 34 weeks, allowing you enough time to finish and integrate all the sessions before your baby arrives.

How is this different from a standard hospital birth class?

While hospital classes focus on the clinical "event" of birth, we focus on your psychological transformation and the identity shift into motherhood.

Can I join the circle if I am planning a C-section or a hospital birth?

Absolutely. Every birth journey is honoured here, as our focus is on holding the woman, regardless of her chosen birth path.

Is this a therapy group since a health professional is leading it?

This is a supportive wellness circle led by a professional, designed for connection and resilience-building rather than clinical treatment. Specific clinical advice will not be provided.

What happens if I miss a week due to illness or an appointment?

While we encourage full attendance to maintain the circle's intimacy, you will receive your "Wisdom Card" and a summary so you stay connected to the flow.

Is the cost of all my ceramic and art materials included?

Yes, your investment covers all professional guidance, refreshments, and every material you will use to create your ritual pieces and your unique Ritual Welcome Pack.

Will I actually get to keep the things I make in the sessions?

Yes, you will take home your handcrafted ritual items we make each session.

Can I bring my partner or a support person along?

This is a dedicated "women-only" space created specifically to foster sisterhood and a private sanctuary for the mother-to-be.

How many women will be in the circle with me?

To ensure every voice is heard and the space remains safe, we strictly limit each intake to just eight women.

Your Village is Waiting.

The cushion is ready. The only thing missing is you.
